If you still have the probelm, go back to basics, check compresion, check timing, check the point gap and dwell(I'd replace the points with an electronic conversion), check to insure the distributor is advancing(rev the engine up with the timing light on the mark, it should advance up at least 10 degrees by 3000 rpm). Check teh caarb to make sure the accelerator pump is doings its job(with teh engine off,have someone advance the throttle back and forth while looking down the carb, it shoudl squirt some gas out of the small hole at the base of the boosters, it shoudl be a fine spray, not a dribble). The only other thing I can think of is to disconnect the shift assist switch on teh shift plate, it may be shorting out eth engine when you advance the throttle while in gear, just remeber to hook it back up, it may make it difficult to shift without it.
