plans for a boat cradle for v20

hello
does any one have any plans with pictures on how to built a boat cradle for an 86 v20? i like to take mine off the trailer so i can work on trailer at home.

There are several threads and pictures of boats on homemade stands on this site. Basically you tie your boat's stern to wherever you want it, then pull the trailer out from under it, putting support blocks under it as you go. Usually you'll see 2 support piers made of cement blocks with wood on top of them under the stern (one on each side) for balance and one under the middle keel towards the bow. That's pretty much it. DO NOT allow anyone under the boat without additional bracing. To put the boat back on the trailer, just reverse the proceedure, using your trailers winch to pull the trailer back under the boat.
 
Can't help you w/a cradle, but sounds easily done...allyou need are two parallel padded rails like on a bunk trailer...

Here's what I did to get mine off for bottom and trailer work

Get your materials together; concrete blocks, wood blocks and some 2x4 you'll cut to length to stabilize...
DROP your trailer tongue down as far as it will go, which raises the transom...stack blocks and top w/wood tight under both sides of the transom, then start raising the trailer tongue which will LIFT the transom end off the trailer...w/the trailer jack, get the bow up so water will drain out the back and block the bow up and lower the trailer jack again...your boat is now off your trailer...Pull the trailer out, reblocking as needed to clear the trailer...a good scissors or bottle jack you'll need for this step...see the stabilizer legs under the hull toward the front...most important to keep from droppin' this puppy on your head...be careful, go slow and it'll be off there before you know it...use of stabilizer legs allow you to walk all around in/on the boat too...reverse all to reload boat back onto trailer...a good strong drill-driver and 3" deck screws are REEL handy for this procedure...and be sure stack concrete blocks w/webbing VERTICLE...
 
you put the cheese right where that 2X4 is placed, that way when the rat comes sniffing by and touches that 2X4, splat!

LMAO!!...Dave's exactly right on the cheese placement!!...so to keep the trap from going off I screwed in place an X shaped brace under the hull from leg to leg to keep 'em from getting accidently kicked outta place...and if you look closely, each leg has a wide pad attached to the bottom to prevent sinkage into the ground...if ya do this on pavement, you can skip the pad, but don't skip the X brace...the blocks SUPPORT the boat...the 2 x 4s, braced in place STABILIZE the boat...:rule:
