Persimmons

Anybody on here make anything out of persimmons? I have a few wild American persimmon trees around here. They aren't very big but produce. The key seems to be to grab them before the mammals and bugs get ahold of them. I haven't tried to make anything yet but recently had some persimmon puddings that others made. Curious to know of some other uses besides persimmon pudding?

I want to plant some for deer. But I know nothing about them. And I don't have a green thumb!

They're good but they have to be completely ripe or they'll turn your mouth inside outwards. My dad use to use persimmon wood along with apple and oak to smoke pork hams, shoulders and sausage meat in the smokehouse. Good stuff!
