Panga Anyone?

This is sitting at a gas station in town.  The guy I called about it was foreign and I think he said that it was his fathers who passed away.

He is asking $3K but volunteered that he would take $2K without me even asking, so I bet you could get it for $1 - 1.5K.

Its on a nice trailer,. its 18 ft., and no motor.

Let's see, foreign guy, Fl registration in NC, no motor, and I'm not sure if there's any steering. Rman, in your line of business, you might want to run the registration number. Very, very good price though. ;D

The price seems a little too good to be true.

Cue COPS theme music....Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do...... ;D ;D

Let me tell you something Randleman, if you can pick that up for a G and a half I would suggest two things. First check out the hull numbers and see if you can really run them down cause something smells really fishy there.
Second if you got a legit paper trail and you are comfy with the sale I would suggest you

BUY IT :o

Those are great fishing boats, I can't tell what brand or what shape from the pic but the 18-20 footers up here that are in good shape go for some serious money powered right.
Though I would have a hard time selling it if it were mine.
Fabulous in-shore fishing boat, incredible ride in the off shore stuff no matter how snotty it gets. Very economical to run and fast on little power. Shallow draft to boot.
Very hard to find a boat that will be better all around boat for two guys to fish just about anywhere.

As a matter of fact if you don't let me know if you can get the manufacturers name for me and the year on the boat and any other info. For that price I may be taking a road trip ;)

Willy,

I will check it out further for you. I only did a quick drive by cause I was on the way to transport a prisoner for a detective (yes I know I am a hwy traffic cop, but I try to help the patrol boys out when it gets busy).

Believe me, the thought keeps crossing my mind that I should buy it, I could make a bass boat out of it if nothing else.

I work tomorrow night (Super Jam!!! STAY AWAY FROM GREENSBORO!!!!!!) so I will smoke it over good and talk again with the seller.

Do you remember what the make is, I can't read it from the pic. Let me know and I will try to find out info on it

I have a 130hp yamaha that would look good on that. Is it a mako? If know one else wants it can you PM me the guys information.

thanks

That ain't no Mako. There have been alot of Panga copies in the last few years. I'd love to have that where I fish. Too small to run charters though.

I did look at the name, but cant remember it, I zoomed in on the pic and it looks like "mimosa" but I found nothing on the internet on that.

I'll let you know tonight from work.

Well boys, it don't look good.

The brand is "Mimsa", I can't find any info on them.

The Fla. registration comes back to a 2003 23 Panga registered to the Panga Corp.

The trailer is also registered to the Panga Corp.

The seller said that the boat belonged to a guy who rented storage space from the seller, the owner died and his daughter said she didn't want the boat.

Oh, and the best part, there is NO hull serial number on the boat that I can find.

Even if it is not stolen, you would have a hard time registering it legally.

Plus, the floor is mostly soft all over and the transom doesn't sound like its solid all over.

Anyone still interested?

Do a Yahoo search on MIMSA boats and it'll come up. Click on the icon with the American flag and it'll show up in English. Rman, does that boat look like a 23'? It only has a 6' beam. Made in Merida, Mexico.

It probably is a 23 after looking at it again...the console must be from something else, its not fastened down.

I'm not sure that the seller has any standing in the boat at all. He has no paperwork.

I am thinking that maybe the "Panga Boat Corp" may have imported this boat in 2003.

There is no telling when the boat was actually built.

At any rate, if you buy this boat you are buying trouble.

It's like they say, "If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true". You're probably right about the console. They (MIMSA) go from 17' to 23', not a 186 (18'6").
