Original Gauges

Hi there,

Just re-acquired my grandfather’s 1994 V21. Looking to get this thing saltwater ready (a little at a time). Can anyone help me figure out what the original two gauges are on the helm? These are so glazed over that I can’t tell what they were/are. I am looking to get some new ones to fit right in (if possible). Any help is appreciated!

Thank you

I don’t have a V-21, but might have a gauge resource for you. My son did a major rebuild and upgrade on an old Datsun 240Z and had the gauges rebuilt/replaced with new guts by a company in California and I had them redo the dash panel on my ‘06 Denali. Great to work with - if you think you want to check them out and see if they do boat stuff, let me know and I’ll dig out their contact information for you.

They look like Yamaha digital gauges from the pic. Do you have a Yamaha engine on it? There are several companies that specialize in restoring those gauges. It isnt cheap, but its cheaper than replacements.

Awesome info from y’all. I appreciate it. And yes, it has the original Yamaha 150 saltwater series on it.

Now for the next feat, any leads on restoring/replacing the rest of the gauge cluster? P.S. I apologize for blowing up the thread, I should’ve just put all this in one post…

you could replace the black panel with black plexi glass and use Blue Seas panel for your switches. Stay away from the amazon switch panels, Ive had nothing but trouble with them

A little update. Went to take those gauges off so I could send them to GaugeSaver. This is what I found. So much for restoring them 🙃
