Don't get me started on this subject. This closure is BS!!! I'm gonna try and head offshore tommorrow as well, but my LORAN crapped out last trip and most of my numbers are still in TD.

Darn, :clap::clap:

Despite all, consider yourself lucky, it’s nice to be able to do that while we shovel snow here in the Northeast.:bat:

Man, I miss my younger days of snorkeling.

Ouch...Hope you had your numbers written down somewhere. I have THREE backups of my GPS numbers on various hard drives.

What kind of loran do you use? I've been thinking of buying one on ebay because I have a bunch of numbers that were given to me but they're all loran.

Yeah, shoveling snow is one thing I thankfully know nothing about.

We will be freezing our butts off though. Water temp is around 58.
Oh well, no pain no gain, right?

We hit them hard today. My friend Chris caught this 35lb Gag on a 15" white snapper.

Yes, its a Gag Grouper. If you ask me, its some of the best eatin in the entire Gulf of Mexico. We were 20 miles offshore fishing some natural bottom. He hit a 15" white snapper.

Good going!! I got a 35 Black Grouper in the Keys last febuary what a fighting machine!

got a little more snow last night but the real story is the Ice we have people falling all over the place, you could Ice Skatye in my back yard right now!!

Water here is a warm 32* this morning

Parrot Head, that thing is a hoss. Not a bad way to close out the season.

We got 5 gags today nothing close to that size though.

I agree gag is definitely one of the best eating fish there is in the gulf.

Nice job guys, I unfortunately got skunked on the grouper yesterday. Caught a bunch, but no keepers. Only managed to get out to 50 feet due to the weather. It was so rough that I was the ONLY boat at any of the ramps I went by. Not to mention the tide was so low I barely got out. Down here they say the gags moved out to 80+ feet of water, and there was no way I was going out that far in those seas yesterday. I plan on hitting em hard come APRIL though when I have a working LORAN again.

We had pretty calm seas all day. It got a little sloppy coming in though. But not to bad. Macojoe, that thing was an absolute stud !!!!! How long ago was that ??

I was going straight into true 3-5's on the way out. The pisser of it was that there was big swells out there with the waves rolling over the swells. And the tide was ripping the other way. It made for a horrible ride out. I only seen 1 other boat out there past 2 miles. The first ramp I stopped at had NOBODY at it, then I looked and seen how low the water was. Went up the way to the next ramp and there was only 4 trailers in the parking lot there. I had a wreck in 70 feet I wanted to hit, but I wasn't going out another 18 miles in that weather.

Good job fellas Those are a couple of monstas! Ferm where ya puttin in at? When I was exiled down that way for a few years I used to use the Anclote ramps quite a bit.

BAYPORT has been my ramp of choice. I have ALOT of numbers out of there, but most of them are still in TD. The other downside is that it is pretty shallow there. 1 mile is 1 foot of water depth for the most part, so to get 50 feet you have to go almost 50 miles.:zip:
