On Board Battery Charger?

I know what I want...2 bank 5&5 or 6&6...looking for opinions on brands that are trusted or brands to stay away from.

Thanks

I asked that same question a LONNNGGG time ago.

Anyway, the concensus was to go with the Guest charger from WEST marine.

I was told the Cabela's brand did not hold up.

I did go with the Guest and I am very pleased with the performance.
The only bummer is that you only get teh charger unit,
it is not a kit, you have to buy wire and fittings for the hook up.

Oh yeah, I also went to Lowe's and picked up a 50 foot
outdoor extension cord, cut off the female end and connected it to
the supply side of the charger.
In my application, I have storage area close to the mounting,
so I just wrap up the cord and keep it on board.

As a matter of fact, I pulled the tank cover and that is as far as I got.

I leave tomorrow to drive out to Ca. with a stop in Lake Tahoe.
My younger son, "the Brain Surgery Kid" is getting married in LT
on Sunday.
Then I spend a week in LA visiting,
then the west coast reception on July 21,
back on the road to come home by July 25.
August 4, is the east coast reception and then the week after
my older son will be home visiting.

[move][glow=red,2,300]NO WORK ON THE V UNTIL AUGUST 13, THEN I CAN MAKE STUFF AT HOME.[/glow][/move]

When I pulled the cover, I found this:

I am thinking of cutting the cover and making a hatch
over that hole in front of the gas tank.
I could keep my anchor in there and open some space in the cuddy.

Oh yeah, that seat that has raw wood,
that is getting replaced.
My buddy makes signs and he gave me some scrap wood
that is treated and prepainted to with stand weather.

Well, since you will be out of town for so long....and the V left by itself, hmmm, I'll watch that battery charger for ya. ;D

Hmmmmmm, can you say...

Looks like I'm going with a guest 2611a or a Minn Kota MK 210.

Any wisdom available here would be appreciated ;)

OK, I'll put 'er back on track for ya, Slot...paris is right about Guest...installed the 2620 ( 2 x 10 amps) for the trollin' motor batteries back in '99 ... later on put a 2611 (2 x 5 amps) for the crankin' and acc. batteries ... NEVER had the 1st issue of any kind w/either and they are constantly plugged in ...

Try to plug in directly to an outlet IF you can...if not, use a HD (15 amp) cord as short as you can for best charging...this would apply to any MFGR's charger... ;) ...

Actually it is available with all the buttons when you create a post.
It takes some experimentation though.
