Offical Charleston get together thread

marina doesn't have a ramp(they do but its hard to use on a boat teh size of a V), Remlys Point is right accross the harbor(In Mt. P), nice ramp with easy access.

BTW, the marina isn't set up for extended stays, they have planty of docks, but no shore power, they do ahev a few outlets and long extension cords if you need to keep a bettery hot

RW- That or any number of Pelosi's comments on the loop would send em over the top. You might need a referee before you get there.

Story- I had an acquaintance that was a three way partner on a 25' Bayliner Flybridge. The three owners would get together every April and take the boat to Marathon for Dolphin fishing. One of the guys couldn't stand to be in the vehicle with the other two due to "political differences" so he would always ride in the cabin of the boat with a couple cases of Bud Light.(7 hours) He claimed it was the most relaxing time of the entire trip, I always assummed it was just the beer and head close-by. Kinda dangerous I guess, personally I wouldn't ride with any one of them.

Best Western @ Patriot Point, Mt Pleasant, SC ---3 nights - 17,18,19 of March. About $90/night average with my AAA discount. Only need to cross the bridge for Downtown and the gal I made reservations with said I could park the boat there too.:beer: Ready..

OK, Vic!!...you are right up Coleman Blvd from a good ramp at Shem Creek!!..you can put in there and cross the harbor to the guys who put in downtown at the marina...but if Rob & Willy are gonna be in Mt Pleasant, I'd recommend putting in there as well...Shem Creek has several good restaurants(code word for cold beer) to pull the boat up to...Reds is one of 'em...I think one called Creekside there too...Shem Creek will be HOPPIN' and the "Puppies" will be out by then!!...(and I ain't talkin' about the 4-legged kind):beer:

No doubt that it can get crowded, but I gotta feelin' the Snaggers ain't gonna lay around in their hotel rooms...drop 'em in and throttle up early's probably gonna be more like it...It's a choice...

CaptPete, Glad to know someone will be close by, looking forward to meeting you.

As for the eats and drinks, I will eat just about anything Spare. I was trying to figure out how you were gonna do a ball game in the morning and still have time to entertain this bunch SAT night. If we have a place to congregate, I can bring the propane cookers and or the grill and do up some fish, low-country boil, chicken, steak, chops you name it. That ought to take some of the load off Spare so he can enjoy some time with the V20 crowd. Just a thought...

s.c locks

for those of you who have not been through a lock it is pretty cool! this is the tallest lock in the us i belive. it is 75 feet from top to bottom. i have been caught in that lock in a bad storm with app 80 boats inside!what a trip.water was coming over the gates when they were closed, and its about six feet or more from the water to the top of the gates!!if they are open it is a esay ride down there and back.

I'm looking forward to meeting you as well. Only a month to go. A fresh coat of bottom paint, some spark plugs and a water seperator and I'm good to go.

I figure we will all meet back at Sea Breeze marina for dinner, I have an oyster steamer and a gas cooker for the boil. the marine has a grill

Wish I could commit to coming, but things up in the air right now...:head:

Hey Spare...is anybody gonna get their boxers inna bunch if some of us Snaggers hoist a beer or three at the marina?...I wouldn't think so, but never know if some rookie lookin to score might show up...:bat:
