at 3:30 am when we were leaving I caught a dozen shorts...1- 2 pound fish... on a jig. They were blasting bait. Manasquan River is loaded!

Wow, tremendous! :sun:

That's good eating and will you be doing some Black fishing when your real season opens up on Nov 16. You said you guy's got your 4 man limit on the Sea bass, I thought this time of year the limit was around 10? Great catch!! Right now by you Black fish is only 1 fish, not really worth the time & money, or maybe to start practiceing on those bull dogs. This is one fish I really do miss fishing for, we open up on the 15th at 16 inches, but not for me.
Again NICE CATCH and ENJOY!!!!!!
Time for an oldie:

I had nobody wanting to goso I turned off the alarm and slept.:bat:

Many big stripers caught along the beach north of Manaquan Inlet this morning in glassy conditions.

Ha know the feeling skunk. Used to have to be the first one at the ramp, now we launch about 10:30, usually back by 3.

Old man fishing at its finest

Got out the inlet thursday 11/4 and turned north at the first hint of light. Snooped around the beach at Sea Girt/Spring Lake. nothing happening. All of the charter and party boats that were there headed north as the fleet started exiting the inlet. So we headed north to not get run over. Found really small bass under birds at Monmouth beach. Did not want to go that far but ended up in Sandy Hook channel and we trolled some shorts, two keepers, and three overs to 43". We used Mojos. Lots of boats from Manaquan & Shark River Inlets were already there or showed up.

We called it a day early. I heard there have been blowups anywhere and some steady action south at Seaside Heights

43" striper. Thats NYC behind my head

That's tremendous. Thanks for sharing!

Just outside Manasquan Inlet this morning on a live bunker. First bite...last fish... Nothing but endless dogfish after that. We saw a few bass caught throughout the day both on bunker and trolling. Broke off a Mojo rig late in the day on a big one

Now that's a nice Striper and good eating!!! Excellent!!! :sun: They were catching real big ones around Raritan Bay. I don't know for how long, I just heard, BIG Yellow Eyed Demons (Blues) are starting up. Tons of fun to catch, for me not the best table food.

We got out in the afternoon on Nov 20. Caught many small stripers (5 - 10 pounds) on poppers at the 3 mile line straight out of Manasquan Inlet.
It was a great day to end the season on...

Pulled the boat after Thanksgiving. Five more months of sadness ahead...
