Long time lurker, newish owner. My wife and I pulled the trigger on our neighbors 1990 v20. The boat was her husbands who passed away 4 years ago and the boat sat in her garage where it sat since. Before that we ran our 17ft alumacraft on the columbia, great boat, we thought she sold the wellcraft soon after he died. The moment we found out it was still in her garage we pulled the trigger. The boat was babied heavily, she has a 2001 optimax with a rebuilt powerhead/ecu paired with a 2008 Yamaha t8, brand new soft top, just a clean and beautiful well kept boat. So hello from the northwest! We look forward to hitting the columbia for fresh spring salmon and sharing pictures and info with all of you! What a wealth of knowledge on these unique boats here!

EDIT: sorry for the sideways pictures, stretch those necks!

Yep. she's a looker all right. Nice boat!! Welcome aboard. Always good to have another new member!!

This is how I have my kicker mounted:

Pretty! How fast does your Merc push you? On flat glass we've taken ours to 49 according to the dash
Thank you for the welcome

Is that 200 mounted to a bracket? Factory?

Hah, another Columbus River guy***128512;. Where are you located? I'm out just west of Portland. Mine's an '85 I/O but I did a litttle fishing with a Camas guy with an outboard.

If you decide to set it up with a rocking chair anchor, let me know. I've done mine and might have some useful ideas about getting the sliding hatches out of the way. You can email me at Scott at cookconst dot net.

Dash mounted speedometers are notoriously inaccurate. Use a GPS for a much more accurate reading. I've hit 53 in the Hackensack River on a flat day, but I was going downstream at the time so I don't know how fast the current was. My COG was 53 but my COW was probably less. (It's a fairly slow moving river though).

The boat in the pictures is my V21. They (Wellcraft) put a "bubble" on the stern of the boat to hang the engine from. It's not a bracket, it's actually a factory made part of the transom. That's how they get to call the boat a V21 instead of a V20. Kind of like modern day boats with "Mediterranean" swim platforms molded in. The makers add 2 feet of swim platform molded in and get to call a 19 foot boat a 21 footer.

Scott, we are on the east side, spring time we launch out of the gleason ramp, come fall we like to launch at chinook and run up to the mouth of the sandy. So far we have anchored a few times and it is not terribly difficult, just slide the hatches all of the way foreward. I can lay on the bow, release the anchor, then drop back to the helm area and let the anchor go. We have about a 15ft tail that hangs back in the cabin and if we need to drop out just tug on the rope to get it off the cleat and away we go. Definately open to suggestions to make it simpler.

Neat little bubble, yeah I know the dash speedos can be innacurrate. A guy I work with has a 20ft trophy with a 150 honda, he came out with us on the first run and it was very easy to accelerate past him at full throttle. He shot that first photo
