Here's the deal- bought a V-20 hull in good shape. Needs work, but just with wood/wiring/fuel tank. I have a serial number- is there a decoder out there for Wellcraft?

Also- any good sources for a complete windshield assembly?

Excellent- thanks. I'll get some pictures later today. Long story short- saw a V-20 hull with a 90-something Merc outboard sitting on a trailer next to the road, called and offered $500 and the next thing I know I'm praying to god the trailer is roadworthy.

Just decoded the O/B serial- it's a 86 Merc 200HP V6 ELPTO. Both the heads are off and the powerhead cover is missing, but it's clean and the lower unit is without a scratch. Looks like they ran out of oil and scored a cylinder wall on #1. Steering looks like they converted from OMC to Merc.

I can deal with a rebuild a bore job! I wonder how hard it's going to be to find a cover...

Looking at the hull closer- the stern is solid, no patchwork, fuel tank has an interesting arrangment (using tank in the starboard gunwale?), missing windshield, no gauges in console, has the two swivel seats, etc.

I'll definitely get some pictures tomorrow.

Look on ebay for a Hood or Upper Cowling. Check on ebay it may be cheaper to buy a new power head off there than to rebuild yours.
