New to forum

Hello everyone!! I am new to the forum. I am from virginia beach ,virginia and have fished all my life. What brings me here is that I was raised blue fin tuna fishing and wreck fishing for black seas bass and taugs on a v20 centerconsole. Im now 34 years old and own a 1989 24 Albemarle but oddly enough about 2 days ago I ran across a v20 center console with a ez-load trailer for FREE!!! Yea i said it right free!!! I am unaware of year and the trailer is in great shape it is pushed by a 76 135 evinrude. It seems like a 135hp is a little small to be on this set up. My dads v20 was powered by a 200 seahorse johnson and it handled very well.any advice is welcome and thanks in advanced.. the boat has a v type bench seat set up in the bow and my dads was just a flat step up if that helps narrow down the year of this boat

Kracker:
Welcome to the forum, You have come to the right place for help and advice for anything V related. Congrats on the FREE boat, those are the best kind. Best of luck with her.

Take a look just under the rub rail on the starboard side of the transom...the boats HIN (Hull Identification Number) is molded into the fiberglass provided a previous owner hasn't done away with it...the last two NUMBERS are the year model.

The 135 should push a CC along pretty well, but loaded it'll never be speedy.
Just depending on what you want from a boat it may be adequate...run it for a while and if it doesn't measure up, start looking for a 150 minimum to replace.

Post up some pics of your new V-20 when you can...and welcome to the nut-hut...:zip:

Im not unfamiliar with spending money!!! I just repowered the Albe after burning the motor up during striper season. i have wanted to do a project boat for a while. I tried a 23 sceptre 2 years ago but sold before I was even able to start on it!!!!! I really happy about being able to give this wellcraft a second chance seeing how i was practiclly raised on a v20. my dad is pretty stoked too, he wants to ride in one again he misses the ole' KRACKER JACK hence the reason for my forum name

Just keep in mind free ain't really free.Mine V was a free one too till I brought her home. Not complaining though all the work and money spent on it is a small price to pay for all the pleasure the family gets out of it.Good luck and welcome to the site.

still no pics sorry fellas!!! but I did find this v20 cc for sale here in Va Beach. This boat is insane!!!!!! about as custom as you can get a v20!!!!

Yea we were admiring that one a few weeks ago when somebody posted it....Was asking a boat load of money if I remember....definitely give you something to shoot for.

Right at 15,000 for that rascal!!!!! for being such a custom boat he kept that simple carolina custom design. My brother was a mate on a 52 foot Paul Mann which is a boat builder out of Wanchese,North carolina now thats a Carolina boat in my mind!!! and this guy with that center console added that same charm to a factory boat.
