New Prop - HighFive

I just picked up this Mercury highfive prop. Has anyone tried on of these props before? I'm pretty excited to test out this prop tomorrow!!

When I went to the marina with my boss, we saw a 7 blade prop on a big ass sportfisherman. The blades on boats 45 feet and up run about $5000 per blade - thats $35,000 X 2 equals $70,000 for a set of props!!!

I tested it out today on the seacraft 20MA with my 81" merc 225. The highfive I got is a 17pitch. It's the best prop I've owned by far, but I need a 19 or 21 pitch. My motor turns this prop 6400rpm (47.5mph). This is a little outside the recommended RPM range :)

There were a few noticable differences compared to other props - It's super smooth (very little vibration), gets you up on a plane super quick, and allows you to take extremely sharp turns at full speed!!

The bad news is that I think my lowerunit on the way out . . . I started to hear some nice grinding noise at the end of the trip . . . which sux, but I have a spare 2:1 - merc XR2 lower unit in the garage!!!

MS - the prop was $200 . . . I bought it used off a guy on www.coastsidefishingclub.com
They run a little over $400 new.
