Hello all, I have been checking all of your threads and I have learned alot, I just got my first boat and I have lots of questions. I got a 1987 Wellcraft v20 CC with a 1996 Johnson 200 Ocean Runner on it and a old 2000 Skipper B trailer. I haven't even put the boat in the water yet, it turns out that I can't find the vin# on the trailer to get a tag. so the DMV is making me get it inspected to issiue a vin# so I have to wait. The boat is in ok shape with some soft spots on the deck by the seats and console, I also found a hole in the bottom of the front anchor box. and a small hole on the front of the boat right under the rubber rub rim. looks like it was by the dock in heavy seas and came down and hit the dock and pressed in a fist sized hole.
Thank's for viewing this post and any advise would be great!

Welcome Jdog... pull up a chair and set a while.. Life's good, skipper a Wellcraft.

Oh, and about your comments on your boat, remember......:thre:

And another center console owner!!! Show us pics of what your concerns are and we can go from there. Are the soft spots in the deck in front of the console or behind?

Thx 4 all the love, yea I am south of I-10 I live in Gulfport MS. I will take some pic's soon of the boat, and the soft spots are on both sides of the CC and behind it. I was looking at the caulk line at the bottom of the console and it's in bad shape so I belive that is why the deck is rotted out and the caulk line for the big area that covers the gas tank is not even there. All I can do is pray the stringers are not rotted.

I took the seats out today cause I am going to put a 100gallon ice chest instead due to the fact that my big *** won't fit in the small seats.

here is the only pic I have so far.

Man my first car was a 1973 Plymouth Road Runner, I miss that car soooo bad. It only had a 318 v8 in it but it ran like a scalded dog lol, I must of went threw ten sets of tires on that car, they just don't make em like that anymore, but I would have to say that the new Dodge Challenger is a bad mofo and maby one day I will own one.

I have a question. Will water drain out of where the gas tank fits under the deck or would it have to be pumped out? 87 v20 CC

My first car was a '69 Road Runner. 440 with six pack and four speed.

Any water in that compartment should drain so long as the holes in the compartment bulkheads are clear.
