New Man Cave

Here in the Peoples Republic of NJ they would be all over me like stink on sh!t if I drew a permit for a shed and did all that.
Good luck Wind Talker, it is looking good and like you guys are doing a good job

Here here, willys rite...... Im in the process of trying to get a permit to replace an existing deck in my town and its total BS what there doing to me and my homeowner , by the time im done they will have enough engineers , surveys infromation etc to build a new skyway bridge to europe.

I only get a pay check when job starts and finishes , they (the building dept ) get theres every friday

well it is 16x24 and it is a gambrel, and it is under 20 feet, so whats the problem?? I just past my budget yesterday of $5000 I going to have to ask obama for a bail out!!

That can just barely pass for a gambrel roof. That's gonna be a kick in the nutz when they tell you to take it down. You just might have a battle brewing if any neighbors rat you out. :fight:

Holy Crap!! That thing is enormous!! MJ - I'm looking forward to this summer. Finish that thing up so we can go fishing . . . Seacraft will be gone May 29th!! Looking forward to being new neighbors.

BS, are you saying your gonna be living in MJ's back yard. the way he goes through motors and you fix them, it would be win-win.

:you::oh: that not a shed....thats a dam high rise.....holy cow man...you gonna rent that thing out? bet you could get 3 bedrooms in there....

He is not moving in the back yard, but maybe close:sly:

I might have to change the name of the building from shed to work shop

Nice progress, its going to be nice to have the extra room. I don't blame you....make it as big as possible! Doesn't cost that much more and you'll be glad you did.

Finally someone on my side! LOL

I'm on your side...Me and my buildin' buddy put up 52' X 36' er for a guy here...3 12' rollup doors on front, plus walk door in center...insulated it, lined it inside w/OSB, built a 16' work-bench along back wall...he spends more time there than in the house...or that's his wife's story anyway...we put the cedar-shingle lookin' vinyl siding on it...looks great and stays toasty all winter...we put a floor-drain in where he parks the boat...had open space made into the trusses and floored that so he's got GOBS of storage up there...

Reel, I know a guy up I-85 from you who needs one just like that...........................................................me!!!!!!! When shall we start?

After 61 years my dad has finally decided to bite the bullet and is having a metal building put up.

It is going to be 40 x 40 w/ two 10' x 10' side-entry garage doors. Insulated side-walls and cieling.

Cost installed: $31k (doesn't include grading)

Makes you feel better doesn't it MJ?!?!?! I'm anxious to see if my boat will fit into a 10' garage door with the top up/enclosure on. I think it will fit by 3 inches.

Well things have slowed down some since my hospital stay a few weeks ago but here is a update.
Both top walls are framed now, siding add windows and front door and I be closed up. Get some stain on there and I can start moving in.
