Navman fuel flow meter.

That's a good price.

I have one installed on my boat (very easy to do), and love it. Dont know why I didnt get one sooner. Much better than just the standard fuel guage.

The meter gives GPH, how much consumed on trip, total consumed over time total (i.e. 2 week vacation in Fla, we burned 268 gallons total), and give remaining gallons in tank. The alarm feature is nice too, I've got mine set to buzz at me when I get to 70 gallons in the tank, that's when I know it's time to head back in with my safety margin factored in.

Very handy!!

I love them too especially on long trips, you can quickly find your sweet spot (in all sea conditions), save tons of fuel, and you KNOW (at any point in time) exactly how many gallons you burned.

BS I can't find them on the website. It that complete with sensor and 2" gauge? The 2100? I've been looking for a good deal and it's time to pull the trigger.
Thanks,
Bob

Just what is involved in installation? I couldn't find any info on that?? Sounds like a very nice thing to have for sure.

I second that - what does it take to install one of these puppies? Is this one of those take a chainsaw to your deck so you can access the fuel tank deals or does it just get clipped on the top of the tank and get plugged into the gas line?

This was an old link . . . and a special price.

Most places sold this unit for $150+ not including shipping charges.

The installation is real easy

Just like franco said it's an inline sensor.

you cut the fuel line b/w the tank and the fuel/water seperator (if you have one) - navman recommends that you find a section where the sender can be mounted in a vertical position .

Install the inline the sender with two hose clamps and run the wire from the sender to your dash. The gauge is 2" . . . . so you can rip out the old fuel tank gauge and put in a fuel flow meter. Then you just need to power the gauge (12v +/-) .

You get the guage wich will need to be mounted up by the other guages at the helm. Will need a standard 2 inch cut out for it.

One note, they do not have a on/off switch or inline fuse for the guage itself, so it's easy enough to do, just get a two way toggle and a inline fuse, then simply wire up the positive to a positive line to the battery and the negative to the boats ground buss bar or to the boat battery ground (buss bar is the way to go if you have one).

Then you run the trandsucer cable from the sensor up to the back of the guage. You mount the sensor "in-line" AFTER the fuel filter (if you have a Racor or spin on type fuel filter) as mentioned in the installation manual.

You simply cut the fuel line, then put the two stainless hose clamps (which come included) over the hose ends, then install the transducer with arrow indicator to show flow to the motor into the ends of the fuel hose, then clamp down both ends and yer done.

the hardest part is snakin the cable from the back of the boat up to the guage, other than that, it's so simple you'll wonder why ya hadnt done it sooner.

If anyone needs pics, let me know and I'll take some for ya and post them (might just do it anyway.....)

Here's a pic of the transducer installed, real easy, just cut fuel line post the filter (put between filter and motor), install transducer and clamp down.

Snake cable up to helm.

I used the ACC switch on my switch panel for the guage

Then make a cut out for the guage and wire up the hot and negative and yer now in the fuel management buisness!!
