Motors off now what

I just pulled the motor to do my transom rebuild but ran into a little snag. I built a stand to put it on but unfortunatley the trim and tilt stopped working and the motor was trimmed up quite a bit when i removed it. Because of the angle its sitting at there is no way to get it on the stand. First question- How long can i leave it hanging by the puller on my cherry picker? Is there a way to possibly jump the trim and tilt to get it to work ( i realize this will only work if the solenoids are bad and not the trim motor itself). I guess if all esle fails I'll have to lay it on its side in my garage which will suck because i wanted to work on it while I was doing the transom. Any advice would be appreciated.

look on the side of the transom plate, you will see a hole that allows access to a large staight head screw, turn the screw out two to three turns, this should allow you to maunaully push the trim in. theer is usually an arrow around the hole or a diagram of the motor with an arrow. What kind of motor are you working with?

91 mercury black max 135. I thought of that it also reads "caution under pressure" so I didn't want to mess with it just yet.

I tried relieving the pressure but it wouldn't budge. I guess I'll just leave it hanging on the cherry picker for now.

the caution under pressure is the fill plug, you need to look on the right side of the transom plate , down low, you'll look thru the hole in the transom plate to see the large screw with an e-clip around it

I realized that last night and found the correct screw. Unfortunatley it wont move. I have it soaking in pb blaster so hopefully that or my impactdriver will bust it loose. I'm going to have to wait a few days as the wife has other plans for me.:cen:
