macojoe goes sharking

we headed out early into some lumpy seas and strong west wind. we checked a few spots for cod and ended up setting up the slick on the eastern edge of the bank. we drifted for an hour and picked away at some cod when the first shark showed up. of course it hit the bait on the spinning rod, mark laid into it and had it to the boat in short order. it wasn't long before i had my chance to play with one on my spinning setup. we popped the hook after 10 minutes and never got a good look at him. the next one was all macojoe. he got off easy when the blue took the bait on the fifty. despite having his fighting belt on upside down, he had his way w/ a biggun' around 10 feet long. we spent the rest of the day topping off the cooler with cod. the wind laid down for the ride home and we saw some tuna in close to shore. had a great day, thanks guys. next time i want a mako or thresher

Paul & Joe thanks for a great time and boy is it nice to fish in a quiet 4 stroke outboard compared to a noisy 2 stroke. You know what my next engine will be :hide:
