Livorsi fuel sending units

My boat didn't have a fuel gauge so while the tank was out I tested the sending unit and the gauge worked fine. So I installed the gauge and when I put 30 gallons of fuel it should have gave me a liitle more than a 1/2 of a tank, but when I turned on the key it was less than a 1/8, I checked everything I even reached in with a piece of wire and grabbed the float and the gauge went up. I got POed and pulled the sending unit out and found out the unit is 5 inches short. So off to the boat parts suppler and found out elbows types only run to 27 inches. The guy recommended this Livorsi type sender that measures  air pressure in a small tube so there is no floating or bouncing gauge, has anybody here have one....Ted     http://www.livorsi.com/catalog/waterproof.htm
