Lake report from 2-21-21

Sadly between my "part time" retirement job working me 5 days a week and the nearly constant rain and cold on every off day I hadn't been fishing this year.

So Sunday it was 22 degrees in the morning with a forecasted high of 44 with 15 mph wind...but no rain so my buddy and I went fishing at Belews Lake (NC).

I was able to stay warm most of the day and we caught 13 bass between us.

The water was 40 degrees at the ramp, 60 degrees at the "hot hole" aka the warm water discharge from the power plant.

It was great to be out on the water!

Nice, RMB, i am so ready for spring. Looking at the weather, trying to get out this weekend

We had a great fishing spot at our local power plant, but when they went from coal fired to natural gas, they greatly reduced the amount of discharge and it s not the hot spot it was.

Glad you got out
