5 years ago today, my wife and I were shuttled into a small office with no windows, inside we were met by a neurosurgery, our pediatrician, and a tumor specialist. we were wondering, whats a neurosurgeon doing here. The pediatrician, couldn't even look at us as they explained that Kendall had a tumor, the word cancer was never spoken, they told us it was just a low grade benign tumor. I think it was about 12 hours later that the shock wore off. After two years of not knowing what was wrong with her, we had an answer, but it wasn't the answer we were expecting. That was a long hard day! We danced around the subject of cancer, never uttering the words, wonder what laid ahead for our family. Finally we came out right and asked, its hard to explain what a simple 6 letter word will do to a family. Its something you never want to hear about anyone you know, let alone a 3 year old child of your own. 5 years later, its all a blur, the operations, the tumor coming back, the chemo, my wife's own battle(not mention my mother and sister in law). My wife and I were thinking, how did we get thru this? ... With prayer and God's help, support from our friends and family, and a great little web site about a 40 year old boat. Thanks!
