Its not everyday you get to.......

Ride your Police Motor on the deck of a Battle Ship.

But thats what I did today. It was a Clicket or Ticket Campaign Kickoff in Wilmington, NC on the USS North Carolina.

I had to drive through the snack bar to get up on deck.

We took 5 motors and the Captain drove his Suburban, it was a 460 mile round trip.

thats cool, its been a long time since I've been aboard the North Carolina, We've got the Yorktown here at Patriots Point, along with the Clamagore, and Laffey. I'm embarrased to say its been 8 years since I toured them. My wife and kids could care less about the ships. I could spend days going over them.

thats cool randle ,,,,, looks like beautiful weather.

congrats

I love those ships My Dad served on a couple different battle ships , from 1946 till 1950

Hey Spare, thanks for reminding me.
About 15 years ago, when my sons where in Boy Scouts,
the troop made a trip to the Yorktown and we stayed the weekend on the ship.
It was a great trip, while touring teh ships,
I had all the scouts looking for the bowling alley, it made all the uptight parents mad,
but hey all the kids got to see and learn more than they realized.

Between all the other crap involved in my job, I get to do cool things now and them.

My Boy Scout Troop is going to spend the weekend on the Yorktown in October, I am looking forward to it, it has been 10 years since I have been.

Good pics; My son and I visited the Carolina on the way back north from Myrtle Beach. We checked out the Yorktown about 5 years ago and plan on a stop to the New Jersey soon. The history of these ships is amazing and you never really appreciate the sacrafice that was made by so many until you get up close and see these ships in person. Thanks for the pics.
