In a quandary

Good luck with her, she is a fine looking boat.

Thanks Willy. I'm thinking that both you and RW are going to see it "up close and personal" before too long. I was on her yesterday and she's simply beautiful. (Well, to my eyes anyway... can't speak for the wife..lol)

Congrats, Destroyer!!...we'll look forward to more pics and wet tests!!...gonna have some FUN now!!...

Boat name?...gotta be "PRICEY!"...

Nice congrats on the boat, "Final Decision" or " Final Answer" (if you are a Jeopardy fan) should be her name.

Congrats Destroyer!

Here's a couple names for ya:

"Destroyer" (don't know how I thought of this??)
"Black Label"
"Flank Speed"

Came up with these by looking at the old post on how you got your V20 handle.......

Good luck with her whatever you decide, buddy!

Well, the best laid plans of mice and men, etc, etc, etc.... I called the guy today to tell him that he had a sale... was not able to reach him all day. He finally just called me about 10 minutes ago...

He sold the boat to someone else this afternoon. Took a $500 deposit... I am so very bummed right now it's hard to even express how much. I really wanted that boat.. it was everything I was looking for and more.

Told me that the other buyer has to sell his boat, and that he said he'd have the rest of the cash this weekend, so I guess there is a very, very,
small chance that the other buyer might not be able to complete the transaction and I can get her, but I won't hold my breath.

Damn

Too bad...yer right, I wouldn't hold my breath, but if a boat has to sold for the other guy to buy, there's always a chance it'll fall thru...

The other guy has to sell his boat by the weekend to have the money available?

So it may not happen and you will still get that boat.

Either way, it's just a toy...you shouldn't get worked up over wanting something so trivial...

Now, if I could only live by my own words...easier said than done.

RKC, you're exactly correct. It is just a toy. To be looked at in much the same way that some people would view a touring motorcycle. And, of course, my point is that we all love and have our toys. I just hate it that I thought we had a deal, and then he sold it out from under me. It will be a long time before I find another boat in that condition and for that price. I know that there's one out there for me.. I just haven't found her yet.
To me, the guy has no honor, and that makes him, and his boat, damaged goods. :bat:
Still, this one was yar, trim and fit and clean. 100% virgin...still had it's original seats, including the rear seat and the sliding passengers seat. It's gonna take a while to get over her. Ah well, such is life. :head:

I know, like I said: "I wish I could live by my own words".

I am the same way with toys, once I decide I want something, I WANT IT!!!!

and "toys" do keep us "young" and living life instead of just being alive...

Well, if it deal does turn around, maybe you could get it cheaper and name it "Damaged Goods"...but I still like "Destroyer" btw.

Hate that for you Destroyer. I know there will be another come along. You guys seem to have a plethora of V's on the market up there in NJ. Your next lady is out there somewhere. She's probably bustin through the chop as we speak, on a fishin mission, doing what she does best.

Very tempted to go after that Steiger Craft, but I really want a V21, especially now that I see how nice they are...The hunt continues... Thanks to all you guys for the kind words.. Much appreciated.

Dang...well IF the guy calls Monday saying you can buy the boat, tell him you found another boat you really like (which you did) but add that you MAY still be intrested in the V for $5k.

I ended up in the hospital that Sat, and since he didn't call I presume that he sold it to the other guy. So much for a handshake deal and people keeping their word. :cen: Actually, it's my own fault, I should have insisted on giving him a deposit... I know better than to leave a great deal on the table without putting down a deposit. Don't know what I was thinking.
