I got me one! (New Member, too!) PICS ADDED

Hey all! I'm a new member here. I live in Ohio, by Elyria and have been on a boat every summer for the last 45 years. My home port is generally Vermilion, but I occasionally slide over to Lorain. I used to do delivery work by water, and have personally owned three boats. A 1977 Starcraft powered with a 125 outboard Evinrude, a 25', 1964 Lyman Cruisette soft top repowered with a V8 225 inboard Chrysler, and a 26' 1982 Sea Ray sport 350 Mercruiser I/O. My newest addition is a 1977 V20 Cuddy with a 1971 1350 Kiekhaefer Mercury.

The boat is pretty stripped, motor needs a water pump, lots of cosmetics, some soft spots around the transom, no electronics and the teak hatch covers are painted electric blue, but I see some promise in there.

I just picked the vessel up in Michigan and brought it back to Ohio on Thursday. According to the PO, he picked it up in Ohio a couple years back, so I was just returning it home :nice:

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you. I'll have some pics up in an album soon!

Steve

Hi!!

Welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing some pics of your new toy.

And even more to seeing pics of your old toy (the Lyman)!

We had the pleasure of spending an afternoon in Vermilion several years ago. Toured the Maritime Museum and walked/drove around ogling the boats and houses. Seemed like a gem of a place to live.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Wellcraft.

Welcome! My father had a Lyman, so I would love to see any pics you have too. There were a few in Toms River, nj back in the day.

Nice Spoggy. I see you learned how to post pics. I love the old tower of power inline 6 engines like that one. They have a growl like no other.

Welcome,

I second Destoyer, those old inlines would scream!
Nice looking hull and look forward to your build, feel free anyone to input on mine as well

Nice blank canvas. What a difference between the years. The older one has a much cleaner and lighter look. I'm only familiar with the 89 model that my uncle currently owns. He doesn't take the greatest care of it so I'm hoping to take it off his hands in a few years.

Just kidding !!! I like it - very clean and spacious, no clutter, good fishing rig !

The " tower of power " Mercury - nice. I had one .......was a 140 hp and pushed our T Craft 21' like a 200 hp.

Best of luck with it.
