Hunting season right around the corner. Who is ready!?

I am. Getting into saddle hunting. Started last year. Alot lighter than dragging a climbing stand around.

I'm planning to bushhog the trails and hunting lanes this week. Pretty upset with myself for not having working batteries in my cams the last few months, but just been too dang busy to worry about it.

I'm going down to my wv property this weekend. Gonna have my son practice shooting his bow from a treestand and his saddle.

I had my cam running all summer - so I thought. I checked it a month ago and it turns out that the camera was OFF, however I thought that the batteries were dead. I changed the card anyway, which was empty. The cam powered on, although I thought it was just enough battery to power up and it would die. I pulled the card a few days ago and to my surprise the cam was working. Got home and had over 1800 pics and a ton of bucks in bachelor groups.

And my son just broke his arm. 4 to 5 weeks in a cast. He was excited to use a compound this year, finally big enough to pull back a full size bow. Guess he will use the crossbow for a while.

Sorry to hear about your son. Besides it being hot and humid during the evenings, I've not gotten out hunting any except opening morning. Walked in before first light and scared off what sounded like a huge herd while getting into my blind. 15 min later I had a small buck come in but passed on him. Prob should have taken him. I could've got er done in 15 minutes flat.

I’ve been out a few times here in Jersey, not much moving w the hot weather. Seen mostly does w fawns. Need some cooler weather to get em moving

Wv archery season starts this weekend. Ill be there for the weekend. Hope it doesn't rain. But we need it. Creeks dried up.
I never hunted jersey, used to race dirt bikes there and I remember it being thick and small pines? Southern part sand, northern rocks.

I'll be ready when/if the ducks fly in. Although the impoundment took quite a beating with the buckets of rain we had a few month ago.

I went duck hunting a couple years ago with a friends neighbors friend in md. Ist time I did that, was fun! He owned a bunch of land on the shore, had an off grid cabin we stayed at. I shot some ducks and some decoys
