Someone may sell me a 1984 v20. It is in excellent shape. He had the transom redone and replaced with a fiberglass one-- no wood! He also has a new fuel tank. The old one leaked. The trailer is a double axle in good shape. It is not a cuddy cabin or center console. It has the double console. The bow and aft are open. It comes with a 1998 Merc 200 efi that does not run. How much is this boat worth? What would you'll pay for it? It has always been under a roof when stored away. Any help is appreciated!

We need pictures to give that kind of info!!

Thats what they call a Dual Console and is a nice machine and the rearest of all V20's

If boat solid and clean looking, and trailer is good $1 to $3K all depends what you want to spend?

The max horse power is 200 or 225 depending on the year, but the perfect match would be a 150.

Good used motor will be $2000+ de[ending on year and up to $15K for a nice new ETec

Good Luck!

Pictures yes however going by bluebook (for what it's worth) the boat around $3600, the motor around $2800, trailer depending where your at $800-$1200. Total package as one $2500-$6500.
A lot has to be considered, we need more input, don't realy on just "how much it's worth"!!
Oh and welcome to the site!!!

OK, reread the post.
Nonrunning boat, 23 years old, excellent condition, other work done in the past.
My bid is $700-$1700 provided the boat and trailer have useable papers on it.

I paid $4500 fot that package this spring with a decent dual axel trailer. Boat is an 88' but so is the motor Transom will need help shortly but it will be a DIY for about $600. Motor needed a steering cable ($100) and I got the carbs and flywheel reworked before I took it out ($400). She's clean though. This ought to give you something to compare.

Don't have pics but it is in mint condition-- both the boat and double axle trailer. The motor is not running.

Any other details on the engine? Is it locked up? Just won't run? As was already stated, need pics to give you a good idea of what to offer. If it is a 2.5L MERC, they are known for this to happen to the cylinder walls, alot of the time for no apparent reason.

MJ,

What did you mean by the dually being the "rearest" of all V20's? Just curious...

Big Nasty,

Look in the For Sale section and you'll see what I have my 86 dually listed for. I have mine listed at $6500 with a good running 1996 200HP Oceanrunner. Maybe I have it underpriced, who knows. In the end, a boat is only worth what somebody is willing to pay. MJ practically gave away his boat... It's a matter of supply and demand...

The dual consoles don't come along as often as the other models, so they're unique in that manner.

Just what I said, there are ton's of cuddys and ton's of CC, But DC is what you see the least of, although they seem to be poping up a little more latley?

The Windtalker got me on that one ;D

MJ, I thought you maybe meant that the dually had the most room for fishing in the rear of the boat ;D

You mean "rarest". Okay, now I follow ya.

It's always cylinder #1 on those mercs . . . when water pressure gets low . . . lack of cooling water in the block.
(bad impeller, plastic bag, etc.) . . . that sucks.

It is an outboard engine. I have a 200 hp ready to put on from my old boat which cracked on me. So, the engine really doesn't concern me too much.
