Hey!!!!!

See what you started destroyer and let me tell you something ,,,I LOVE IT

Bunch of really great people on this site. But sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own lives that we don't have time or think we don't have anything interesting to say, when in fact, we do. We just need to be prodded a little sometimes. I'm hoping that Scook will ask his wife for her pie crust recipe so we can all try it.

I’ll do that D. The reason for the delay in trying your recipe (which she said sounded unique and interesting) is that we’re on a much needed vacation. After being up more than 24 hours and a 4 and 10 hour flight, I’m dog screaming tired and writing this before dozing off in Rome.

It’s the weirdest thing - there are all these people here who look just like folks you’d see in any big American city but they’re all speaking Italian. Fortunately for us many do speak reasonable English and for emergencies, I have Google translator on my phone now.

Anyway, we’ll be here most of the month, see Rome, Florence, Venice and Cinque Terra, five little towns tucked up in the cliffs along the coast where I hope to have a peaceful recovery from all the big city museums, etc. and maybe meet some of the fishermen who work the ocean in old wooden boats.

Great on the pie crust. Thank you

I highly recommend Pisa, (The tower is cool, but the cathedral right next to it is breathtaking) and Naples if you have the chance. And Mt Vesuvius is a MUST see.

We just ended September with 29 days of temperatures at 90 degrees or above. We did have one day where the daily high was only 88 degrees. This beat the old September record of 28 days with temperatures over 90 degrees which was set in September 1939.

This is the first summer that I've only taken my 1964 Super Skeeter out because it has just been too hot or hot and windy since the end of May. I take the Skeeter out because it is quick and easy to launch and retrieve but I still end up soaked in sweat doing either one. Forget taking the big boats out when I have to launch and retrieve them by myself.

Relief if on the way however. We're finally getting the first fall cold front coming thru tonight taking today's high of 95 degrees down to tomorrow's high of 77 degrees. I'm ready for some cool fall weather crappie fishing!

That's the same reason I have my 16.5' Wellcraft Airslot. So easy to launch and retrieve, and truthfully, unless I'm going out into the ocean it's more than big and stable enough for me.

It's amazing how much the climate changes from year to year. Some years it's hotter than heck and others it's downright cold. interesting that 1939 was the previous hottest September. That's a long time for a record to stand. :head:

Well, the cool fall weather blew in last night. It was 91 degrees at 5 p.m. yesterday and 45 degrees this morning. Forecast to be 40 degrees tomorrow morning but light winds. I'll be on the lake at sunup tomorrow morning chasing crappies.
