Nice work Nipper....I think that a patent can be renewed each time it is going to expire, I wonder if they did.....we could start making them again ourselves!!!!!!!

anwser is yes, seabird was very popular boat then and many tried to produce similar products. my factory was across the street from them,i built custom 20s-28' the v2o molds were floating around at that time and 2 to 3 sets [copies] were trying to be made. we used to call these popsum boat cos. i built special design v 2os, 24s cuddys, fisherman inboards, tunnel hulls for wildlife dept, up to 28' flybridge sport fishermans. currently have the 1st 28 i built in 1970, bought it back from owner in boston 2 yrs ago. has my personal initials in stbd stringer. send me a photo and can probably tell you more about your boat. richardI've got a 1968 Seabird V20, also suspiciously similar to the V20. The boat has a round keel towards the transom and I believe it has the hook you mention at the rear of the hull. Is this part of the change they made to the Ray Hunt design to avoid patent issues?
