Hard first start

Ok I was thinking. (Yes I do that sometimes ) my 1988 150 2 stroke is hard to start the first time cranks and cranks and cranks ,but after Sh3 starts she starts on the first turn of the key When I push the key in to activate the choke if you listen very carefully you hear a click ,it use to b3 you can hear the click much more loud. So I was thinking maybe there is gunk or crud around by the butterfly. If I can’t get it to choke correctly then that would cause it hard to start. So what I’m going to do is spray the cr#p at the butterfly area with carb and choke cleaner then see if it gets better. I have three carbs. Just letting you guys know what I’m going to do. In march once they turn the water on again. Do you think I’m On the right track? Any other ideas? Let me know. Thanks
I feel if it’s not engaging fully the choke ,that’s what would happen. Hard start

It does have an enricher. But I think it has butter flies on the carb. I hear the click when I push 5he key in but very very low. I have a 50 hp mercury and when I push the key in you hear the click normal.
I haven’t checked for a while. How would I know if 5he enricher is working?
