GOOD NIGHT, Irene!!

Getting nasty here, power is out all around us, will prob go out soon here. Have both generators ready, plus the one in the motorhome(hot showers ahhhhhhhh!!--gas water heater anyway) so Im good as long as the wind damage stays to a minimum

Everybody take care, Cheers with a freshly made Dickle Tan and ginger!!

Barnegat Bay Cam gettin a lil SHAKY...and don't forget about the eye...if it goes over you and all calms down, the worst is yet to come...

looking at the radar it looks pretty nasty down there. Just got done securing everything around my home, expecting "weak" hurricane winds tomorrow morning.

I hope everyone stays safe.

Were getting the backside of the storm now. Lost a couple of trees, ripped them right out of the ground. A limb fell on the pier but haven't been able to get out there to see if it did any damage. Raining so hard can't see 50 feet.

Hope everyone stays safe with what is remaining. We lost power for 10 hrs and we are 100 plus miles inland

Eye is almost up to us right now.. (looks to be near Edison, NJ...middle of the state)... tons of rain.. my basement is flooding (seepage only)... it's 7:15 am Been up all night. Sump pump holding it's own np. only very mild wind so far. a few big gusts, but no house shakers.. We'll see what happens after the eye passes... River is still in it's banks, no street flooding (so far). We've had power all night, no interuptions. Hope and pray that everyone is safe and has no damage. Let the sun shine in....:sun:

Destroyer
Hope you Northern boys fare ok, we had trees blown down from ground saturation from the day before Irene hit and during Irene. Broken Limbs, siding and shingles off.

I was up all last night, walking outside, with high tide and storm surge it flooded my wetlands came in my yard surrounded the house. It looks like the slope I put from the house fdn out in the yard kept water from coming in my fdn vents and getting under the house.

The floor in my shed got wet.

I had water knee deep out by my shed (near the wetlands). My ditches are still full but the water is receeding back to the creek.

The main thing I'm worried about now is so much rain and flooding my septic tank drain field got saturated and will it fill the tank and then we can't use the toilet.

Hope everyone was and is going to be as lucky as I was.

If anyone has damage and needs help call me I'll load my equipment and head your way to help you out.

Lot of wind and rain but the Willy house hold is doing OK.
My brother in law on the Delaware River, lives on the PA side just south of Frenchtown NJ is in trouble, basement full and flooding over onto the first floor.
we cannot get to him and he cannot get out yet so we are waiting to hear what he needs and when we can get there.
The river is set to crest tomorrow afternoon at 21.5 feet above flood, that puts it at his front step, if they are off by six inches it puts it inside the rest of his home.
Waiting to hear on FishBones which is on the hard on jack stands at the marina. No contact so far. I know the town streets behind them are flooded.
I am worried about that good looking fellow in LI NY, his town is under water flooded.
I am referring to MJ's boyfriend CTT
Also worried about Destroyer and others up in North Jersey. All the major river watersheds are at above record flood levels.
That is no F'n buono.
Right now we have some hard gusting winds in the 40 knot range as the back arm of the storm is passing by, no rain with it yet.
If I don't lose any trees with this back side it looks like I am going to skate through.

Glad you are fairing for the better Willy. Sorry about your bro-in-law. So long as everyone is safe, think of it a a big inconvenience. Things can be replaced, flood damage is surmountable.
Last place I want my boat is in the marina during a Hurricane. Just got a look at some nasty chop having its way with some moored vessels in New Bedford, MA. Capt. Pete is probably busy right about now. Happy belated Capt. Pete. On the hill at the marina isn't as bad but on a trailer in the yard sounds better to me.
That is until a big ole' tree limb decides to give up the ghost...
RKC, sucks about your pool.

Saw some video from Brick...our friend Parrot6909 who bought my 21 lives there...video was of streets in a residential neighborhood and they were DEEP w/flowing water...

Hope it didn't get to you up there, Craig...and that the 21 is still floatin'!!...

Glad to hear all the good reports comin' in from everybody...if you got any extra RAINWATER up there, send it down here...our ground is cracking we're so dry...

Anybody heard from the MA crowd?...

i have tons of pics posted on my facebook page this was rough, i've got to run, as i had a tree break and knocked a hole in the side of my place at Emerald Isle.

Glad ya'll faired ok so far.

Thankfully Uncle Barry was on the job through the night to pull ya'll through.

Willy, thanks for the kind thoughts.. Hope your bro-in-law is ok. River in front of my house is set to crest Tuesday midday. Supposed to crest at 14.5 feet above flood stage. To put that into prospective, the worst flood in recorded history for the Passaic river was 17.2 feet above flood stage, set in 1907. This will be the second worst if the predictions hold up. Water can enter my house throught the garage door, and 14.5 will
put the water about 3 1/2 feet high in my (finished) basement :(. I have metal panels that I've placed across the door. If they hold then we'll be ok except for the seepage.. if they let go my basement is totaled... just like your bro-in-law.. if they are off by 6 inches or so it's goodby basement, hello new boiler, washer, dryer, tons of tools and equipment, etc etc etc.. <sigh> This story is getting old.. We can use prayers if anyone has some spares lying around. Will keep you guys posted as time goes by and the story unfolds.

Lee, I'm gettin the impression from everything I'm seein' that NC got the worst of Irene by far...glad you did OK...

As info and pics come in from VT and Upstate NY, I may have to amend...
