Glad to be back

Well, I sold my V-20 four or five years ago and dropped off this forum. Now I have a little Caroliana Skiff and found www.carolinaskiffowner.com which is a great resource for owners of those boats. And that forum reminded me of this forum and how great it is for V-20 owners. I still also have the boat I sold the V-20 to buy, a '84 Wellcraft Sportsman 248 so I'm still sort of related to the majority of posters here, kind of a cousin I guess. And I saw MJ has a Sea Ox walkaround and he's still here, so I was hoping I could come back and get back into the mix. Glad to be back.

Its about time. Don't make us put up an invisible fence or heaven forbid "snip snip"...you runnin off like that worried the mess out of us!

Glad you're back! What size skiff?

Thanks guys. The skiff is a simple J16 that I bought as a kit boat and added a bench seat and large bow platform. It's powered by a 25hp, tiller control, Yamaha 4-stroke. No battery, no electronics, just pull the cord and GO. We use it for fishing (trolls at a crawl), clamming, beachcombing and goofing around in shallow water. I'll post some new pictures of both boats soon, the snow is finally melting. Everybody's V-20/21s look great.

join the crowd i've got a 250 too. we have several members here with the 248/250 Wellcrafts. I still have the V too but those 248/250's are great boats.

The 248 is an awesome family boat. Name another 25' walkaround that sleeps four in berths with a galley and a stand up head. She gets a lot of use cruising, camping and fishing. It's an '84 hull with a '99 5.7 liter EFI Mercruiser and Alpha 1. We love her. I just started redoing all the cockpit teak last weakend, under the shrinkwrap of course.

ok, I went see the carolina skiff site and was supprised to see all the adds. But then as I read I saw this...

"have quickly become the best message board on the web,"

sorry to tell them, but this is the best message board on the web

btw, reagardless of what kind of boat you, you're are allways welcome here

hello ctv20, I must say , for all that don't know, that it was ctv20 who led me to my beloved v20. I did promise him a case of beer but we never did hook up. Anyway nice to hear from you and maybe we can meet across the Sound one day this season and I'll make good on my offer.[Miller Lite if I recall?]

I loved my 85' 248 Offshore and ran it for 9 years. I bought the 248 after being caught in an especially bad thunderstorm in my 83' V-20. There's nothing wrong with a 248's construction or lines and so glad this site supports all the good ol' hulls and their followings.

Welcome back!!

Was it you that emailed me today and said you lost your password?? If so I did not know you by name so i sent you a mail asking for your screen name.

Well if you have been gone that long you will notice alot of changes to the place, so take a look around and stay a while!

Yes after the near sinking of my V20 I decided it was time for a change and went to the Sea Ox, Nice boat and I am pretty happy with her so far.

Besides we will let any one hang here!! Right CB he is a Proline guy now.

Heck CT...I hate it ya felt like ya had to drop off just cause ya sold yer V20...glad to have ya back...hey post us up some pics of that 248 soon's ya get a chance...sounds like a beauty!!...:sun:

Thanks again everybody, you know how to make someone feel welcome. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best community. It sure was Miller Lite phester, but given this economy, I would settle for Pabst, Natural Light, anything but salt waterl. I will post pics for sure. MJ, it was me who emailed, no worries there. I was trying to see if I could change my name from "CT_V-20" to CT248? No big deal either way so if it's extra work, forget it. Definately GLAD TO BE BACK.

Hey, maybe a few more of us 248/250 owners here and MJ will have to rename the site, or at least set up a seperate forum for us!
