Good points Willy, but do you not think the constitution is not being violated by the current laws our elected leaders have put in place? I seem to remember taxation without representation was the reason for the revolutionary war against England correct? Well, I believe we are at that point now. I have written countless letters and made the same number of telephone calls to all of my representatives about many issues over the years, and have not seen or gotten a response from any of them actually addressing the problems. It's always the same 'ole letter saying that "these issues need to be further investigated". We the People have no representation anymore. If you can tell me the last time the "people" made a stand and our government listened, I'll gladly agree with you. People march in huge numbers at our capital everyday, and nothing ever comes of it other than being a pain in the rear for politicians as they walk to work. They are beyond HAVING to listen to us. In their own minds they have no responsibilty to "Us". And that is our own faults because intelligent people don't exercise their priviledge to vote. The entire house of reps. can be completely voted out every two years. The ENTIRE house! But people are so stupid that they keep voting the same people back in year after year. They don't demand term limits for these positions. Every bill that goes through congress HAS to start in the House. And we have the ability to clean house EVERY TWO YEARS!! It might make a difference if we voted out even half of those idiots, but it will NEVER happen. People are too apathetic to do that.
The politicians are too good at the game now, and it is because we have allowed it. We made this problem, and the problem is we have not held those responsible to blame. We let them keep their jobs year after year until they die. They might as well be Supreme Court Justices. Marching may work for some things, but when we get into it as deep as we are, the only choice of action is to take action and cast off the oppresive tyrants that suppress the people's voice and force laws that govern all aspects of life. "DON"T TRED ON ME!" This was the reason for the civil war. So, to back up my point, our country has already gone to arms over the same issues....twice. Once against England over taxation, and once with ourselves for the overstepping of the federal government into our personal freedoms, and forcing laws on the people without proper representation.
