Found My Boat

God
Actually my Bird dogs found it for me! They knew all along it was sitting in my side yard!

So since the 20 year old two stroke was giving me some grief, I got me a brandy new Yammie four stroke to go with its big brother and mounter it today.

Sometimes I am a little slow on the uptake, German stubborn your know.

When you guys have this summers get together I am going to slip up on you real quiet and you won't even see me coming. Next thing you know there will be beers all around:beer:

I wish I had one!!@ I bet that thing is great with no hassle of the big boats! I bet the best times I had were in my little boat!

I am going to fish the salt with her once in awhile, but the name of the game here is trout, Lake and Brown and Rainbow, small mouth and bucket mouth Bass, lots of Crappie and some others but all the places to fish them are real close, and gorgeous. Put all new fuel lines in from tank out ( they are E10 compatible )

You won't be sorry....the motor is a very sweet @ss match made in heaven for G-spot. Congratulations...just don't forget to shut down the engine before you pull the boat out of the water. They are so quiet I've heard of folks ruining them by forgetting to shut down like that.

Dang Willy, I was hoping to see pics of your new boat. Instead all I see are pics of your cute dogs and some pics of 2 Yammie engines floating in mid air (how did you do that btw?) When are you going to post pics of the boat?

I remember when you first got The Spot!!...runnin' WOT across the water, tryin' to talk on the phone...like inna wind storm!!...I still lmao when I think of that...

Have you considered the motor-to-motor steering linkage that allows you to steer the troller from the helm?

Have not researched it yet Oz, I posted awhile ago on it but did not get much feed back as to brand etc.
The way it is now I can set in a forward position and just put the big boy down and use it like a rudder for longer runs. Not to efficient though.
one of the guys who fishes on the local reservoir has the same motor on his 17 foot Monarch aluminum and say he saw no difference between the 8hp and the 9.9.

Yeah...there are certain times I can steer with "the big boy" while pulling w/the Minn Kota....only in large areas w/no wind...I think if you look into that linkage, you'll find it the way to go...

Damn I like spendin' other peoples money for 'em...

looks like someone is gonna be fishing Round Valley & Spruce Run. FYI, the rangers will hassle you if your big motor is down.

Been fishing it and camping at it for over thirty five years. You know other than rolling by slow and asking to see fishing licenses have not been bothered once.
also 80% or better of my time there is in the afternoon into the evening. at night I run my big motor all the time to flush it out and let her run. She is as quiet as a church mouse until the turbine kicks in and launches.

In the 80's we used to camp there and we had a 16" sylvan w/40hp Tohatsu and 9.9 kicker. We got warned about SOMETHING every time we were there. Then one night at mid-night, just 10 minutes after a drenching thunderstorm put out our campfire, the ranger came and gave us a ticket for drinking beer in a dark wet tent. :rule:

Skunk there are Ahole's everywhere, it can happen for sure but I have not had any of those issues. But I have been told that others have.
