Fluke fishing

Anyone going out tomorrow ? I'll be heading out the barneget inlet looking for some doormats!! Anyone have there favorite spots they want to share??

All my spots are way north. I'm in Manasquan now but I was in the bay a few years back.
I never really did fluking outside of Barnegat Inlet. I have fished inside, south side of the inlet is sand and shallow, can be good if there is not a lot of traffic. Fish the channels behind the inlet on outgoing., warmer water might turn them on.

If you are new to BI, just note that the north side jetty has a long stretch of submerged rocks with a red light on a tower at the end. Every year some poor unsuspecting fool runs right into them. There can be a bar with breaking waves if you go straight out the inlet. I have always stayed tight to the north and looped around the red light.

Skunkboat good info!! I'm in silverbay so sometimes I go south to barneget inlet. I like fishing north near martells bar lol

I would try the inlet and channels like double creek and oyster creek and around the BB bouy. Don't think the V-20 would be an enjoyable ride in the ocean tommorrow! Oh when fishing the bay waters go light tackle leave all the ***elry home. Good luck!

Went out 5miles to the garden state north reef today- v handles perfect in the ocean- tabs up and we steamed out. Got some nice seabass and fluke- rigging up to hit the barneget ridge soon- just about 15mes offshore

Unless it's flat, on the ocean it's tabs down some for me.......how far depending on conditions.

Anyway, I'm looking at going this coming Sunday......if the marine forecast holds up.

Get any keeper sized fluke ?

Yea I can't wait to get out to the ridge! Yea we got keeper seabass and fluke. Going out tomorrow I'll post pics
