Floor drain fix?

I am thinking about installing these in my V-20 and filling in the existing floor drains.  I think that these might solve the problem of water comming in through the drains when at rest in choppy water. They should end up 3-4 inches higher in the boat, above floor level.

I figure I would try it with the existing thru hulls in the sides of the boat, if water still comes in, I will relocate the thru hulls to the splashwell like on Hammers PJ.

Any thoughts?

Thats not a bad idea. Having the through holes drain into the splashwell, but where will the deck drain to ??
Into the splashwell as well. Thats an interesting idea. I kinda like it. ;)

I think that is the way your project boat drains, isn't it?

You are correct Randel, mine is the same as HAMMER's project
and yes they drain into teh splashwell.

On bot of ours, there are just tubes,
but I think there should be scuppers/flow checks in line.

I always cork my splashwell outlets,
so any water coming into the splashwell from outside,
does not back up into the deck area.

I am thinking that these drains/scuppers/whatevers, because they go out through the back wall instead of the floor, will stop the need for plugging the drains because the bottom of the hoses where they connect to the drain will be @ floor level, instead of being 2-4 inches below the floor and almost even with, if not below the outlet like what I have now.

But who knows. ???

I really like those, had seen them once before.  If I were to add them, I might add them as additional scuppers instead of replacement...more drainage can be a good thing.
