Fishing the shallows and creeks.

Fished the shallows and creeks around Smith Island (in the Chesapeake Bay) on Saturday. The tide was as low as I have ever seen it in that area. I ran the V in as far as I could, then had to push her across the last flat to get into my fishing hole, about 500 yards or so. Once in it was obvious that I was the only one who'd made the effort, as we had the whole area to ourselves. No big fish were caught, but we had steady action with rock, speckles, small black drum, spot, eels, rays, a croaker, and several bluefish. We fished most of the incoming before running out of bait, and the kids were whooped. I'll try and add a few pics later.

On the downside...my trusty horse on the back dropped half her cylinders at low rpm's mid day. Still runs like a scalded dog over 1800 or so. Initial thoughts are she lost the low side windings on the stator. Regardless, its either that or a switchbox and I'll be back in the game this week. Plan to fish Sunday and Monday coming up.

well your just gonna have to take me so I can learn some of your holes.
