Got a quote of $14000
Remove Top Cap
Replace front deck core
Replace Stringers
Replace full transom and fill outdrive cut out

Is that high or fair price?

Any shops in South Louisiana to do this job??

Who knows what anything cost anymore, but that’s a lot o work. Also depends on materials used in the rebuild. Lotta gray area. If u got the boat for nothing. And 6-8 months later u had a V20 with new stringers , cap, etc. I’d say it’s worth it. But no matter what u do to that hull, only worth $1500-$2500.

I’d look for a better used one

That seems like a lot of money but then it’s rebuilding an entire boat. Forget what you can get for it when done. You will probably never recoup your money but then again you might. Like phat said. You should look for a better one and who knows if they will do the job right I love the V20. And if I was a rich person I would do it but I’m not. If money was not an issue. I mean NOT A ISSUE.

I always said that if I hit the lottery I would find a company that could rebuild my boat to the way it /she was the day she came out of the factory. I would never get rid of my V20. Never. I would probably buy a bigger boat just cause I could bu5 I 2ould always keep my wellcraft V20.
Don’t tell my wife.

i was quoted 20k for all wood in va I said F that so far ive got the transom done for $1200 in materials all in all will probably cost $5k in materials picked the boat up for $200 lol with title and trailer

The problem is a new v20 is a 70,000 boat, easily. The total for materials is about 10k The work sucks and if you do not know what you are doing you will have to do it again.

I love so much about my boat, but it is old. Wires are showing their age. Hull is too. My seat posts have been redone once, but the port pedestal needs some love, but over all my old girl (1988) works well. Do not know if I could spend that much on a hull this old.

I replaced a bunch of badly corroded connectors on my wiring when I got mine (it was previously used only in the salt), and mostly filled two 5 gallon buckets with wiring from previous generations of electronics. The wiring is so much simpler with so much less of it. I spent a few bucks on a good crimped and only used heat shrink, waterproof connectors, but it was worth it.
