Doc Marten's boots/shoes

I have a pair of Doc Martens lace-up steel toes boots that I wear for work. They really take the stress of being on my feet for 12 hours every night. I also have Wolverines which are very comfortable as well but the sole material of the Doc Martens give a bit more cushion. I go through a pair of boots in about 6 months time at work. The company supplies us with one pair a year so unless I convince my boss to write me a voucher for a new pair, I buy one/year. Timberland Pro Series have lasted the longest so far but are not the most comfortable and they are considerably heavier than the Doc Maartens or Wolverines which will also take its toll on a 12 hour night on your feet all night.
Even the late Pope John Paul wore Doc Martens! ;) ;D 8)

I know, I know. I've gone and shattered that financially independent image everyone had of me. Rubbing elbows with the Kennedy's down at the yacht club in Hyannis and all (That's MJ's gig). But, yes, it's true. I do work. Shhhhhhhhhhh. Don't let it get around will ya? Let everyone keep the wealthy image of me. ;) ;D

I'll have to give them a try next time around. They have those on the safety shoe van that comes to my company once a month too. ;)

I've got a pair of these now, waterproof too. very comfy. I think I paid around $120 a few years ago. I used to work on ships and 12-18 hour work days on steel decks were murder on my feet. Redwings helped a lot!

When you buy these at a Redwing store they have a machine that measures your feet. You get exact width, my duck feet are "EE". Made in USA too.

The best thing about Red Wing shoes are that they are American made. They are pricey but at least the money is staying here. Bill Mc ;D

After 20 yrs of torture wearing military issued boots (UGH) I have discovered the almost orgasmic comfort of Timberline boots and shoes...it's about 45 minutes to the outlet store in Destin and my tootsies are in heaven

Hey Mirage, I see you are from Panama City. Ft Walton Beach is my hometown, even though I live in Tenn. at the moment. I retired with 25 years miltary. I go down there whenever I can. Maybe we can hook up. ;D

Timberline or Timberland? I've had and still have a pair of Timberland, decent boots but don't compare to Red wings, IMO of course.

Actually, My V20 got low compression on one cylinder on the V-6 Johnson when I was in Ft Walton in Oct. :P I just picked up a 1984 Formula 23 Sport Cruiser that I am currently getting ready. The wife and I like the V20, but the formula has a full size cabin with all the extras.

My job is 10 hours a night and I were my night time slipers there!!

I don't want to have to put on some laced shoe or something when I wake up to go to the bathroom!! ;D

Yeah, but tell them the complete story! They're pink fuzzy bunny slippers!
:o ::) Are they OSHA approved for the job site? :-*

Ha I had to get some new ones, the old were like a clog and i keept steping out of them :(
But the new ones are great!! And no they are not pink!! They are purple!! :P

Ha. You weren't stepping out of them. Those 3" toenails were pushing them off. :o
Purple is probably a better color for your weekend getaway's to Provincetown. Eh? ::) :-X

I was in "P-town" a few years back.My girlfriend and I were shopping, eating, and drinking, just having a good time. As it got more toward the evening hours I noticed most of the "family/ tourist element" was gone, replaced by a much different crowd. At first it was sorta funny, almost interesting, but after an hour or two the stares, the gestures, and public diplays of affection got a little too much so we said goodbye to "Gaytown"......not that there's anything wrong with that......just was'nt our style
