Dirt bike restoration

Well Ive riden it enough to know i want to keep it and get it lookiing like new again for the spring and summer riding. I started tearing it apart yesterday and getting things cleaned up for paint. Going to go through the shocks, got a gasket to replace, some cracked rubber on the carb intake, some cosmetic stuff, etc..

Thanks for looking, more to come!

while ur at it ... fork seals, chain rollers, swing arm bearings and look at the wheel bearings... look close at the chain for stretch and sprockets for wear.... sprockets can sometimes be reversed to get you some more life...

These things are critical to helping keep your body in one piece.... Happy riding

I got several projects going on at the same time but I made some progress this weekend. Lots of cleaning, and painting, sanding, etc...

I got the leaky oil seal replaced on motor and then cleaned and painted It was NASTY. Main bearings in good shape though from what I could see when I pulled the seals. Waiting on some new suspension parts now and steering bearings/seal, they were wrecked.

Getting there. Starting to look a little more like a bike again.

Front shock seals and oil came yesterday. Only thing im really waiting on now it the steering bearings and rear shock seal. Once I get those I can get the front end back on and get the rear shock rebuilt and filled with nitrogen.

Should handle like a dream then....the front shocks had no oil due to leaking and the rear was bad spongy too.
