Went to West Marine today and found starboard. Nice stuff. I can do all the cutting, just worried about the rewiring job. All those wire going god knows where coming off the guages !!.
Mike.
buildin' w/starboard is very similar to usin' wood...hole-saws CAN overheat and melt plastic, so take it easy there...counter-sink all your screw holes and run a 1/4'' round-over router bit around edges after you've sanded them smooth...I extend the router-bit about a sixteenth to give a ''dropped edge'' to it... ...have a shop-vac ready when you get thru.... :....
Mike - You can buy strips of numbered tape that you can put on the wires and the back of the gauges. You can be drinkin beers all day and still not screw it up. Any electrical supply should have it.
I PRINTED MINE ON THE COMPUTER AND THAN LAMINATED THE PAPER - CUT IT INTO STRIPS AND USED A HOLE PUNCH AND FED THE WIRES THRU BEFORE I PUT A TERMINAL END ON THE WIRE - LOOK IN MY GALLERY
Except for wiring from controls to motor, back when I did mine, I REMOVED every stinkin' wire there was in the boat...never regreted time to do that... ;D ;D...
