Well after a bout with lymphoma I lost my very best good friend Buddy on Saturday at only 6 yrs old. I got a call from my wife who was hysterical and rushed home to find him on the floor unconscious and bleeding. He lost about a pint of blood due to internal bleeding and shortly after died in my arms.
Words cant describe how much this hound meant to me, his mom and brother. He was truly unlike any other dog I've ever known. Besides pictures/memories we have his collar and a lump in our throats to remember him by. His brother isn't takin it any better either(not really his brother but you couldn't tell either of them that) and has been mopin around since he licked Buddy goodbye there on the floor.
We took Buddy in to be cremated on Sunday and it started raining the second we walked out, kinda ironic. We plan on spreadin his ashes in the ocean when we get them back.
It was by far the hardest thing I've ever done in my life and I know in time it will heal but its just not the same around the house without him.
Spend as much time as you can with your dogs as you never know when they may be taken away. You can try to love them as much as they love you but you will never succeed. I'd give anything in this world to run around with him on the beach again......even my Welly
