Console rebuild Lowrance 12”

About to rebuild the console so the 12” will fit.
But it will be a challenge making room for the gauges. RPM, tilt and tank. I can either make the hole console a bit wider or add something on top. What do you think?

Looks like a challenge. Not sure what engine you have, anyway to use NEMA to import gauge info and display on screen?

That was a very good idea but my suke is from 2013 and i think need som adaptors etc.
I cut it up and will make it 7cm wider and also move it 2cm to the left

Sounds like you know what you are doing - unlike me LOL. Definitely subscribed to this thread, can't wait to see your end product!

No i am totally beginner at this 😆 But if there is a will….

Did my first fibre glassing yesterday, just a sample with two layers of 300gr chop strand on a polyurethane board. Did the other side this morning. Hard as a rock now. I Will try tomorrow if it holds my weight ~90kg

It bugs me that the parts does not line up 1000% but we’ll se how it goes.

So from what I see,you cut the console in half and extend it by adding fiberglass and you never did that before? I will hire you to do custom work on my boat. I would never attempt that. Cutting the console in half? Not me. Great job I wan5 to see it when it’s done. What ar3 you going to paint it with?

Thanks! I have watched alot of videos about fibre glassing on YT during the winters and now it finally happened. Next project (after the season) will be de foredeck which is a bit soft.

I will probably paint it with some kind of double coat. Just have to choose which kind of ”white”, not the easiest thing to do.

Alot of fairing and sanding done. Plan was to gel coat it last weekend but found a 1inch/2,5cm gap on the lower part so had to fix that. A set back with a couple of days…
