Charleston 2016 get together.

dug up the old thread, http://wellcraftv20.com/community/showthread.php?t=15184&highlight=charleston

there are a lot of good links and info in it. Most of the places Ive linked are still there and the comments are still relevent. I still have privlaged access to Sea Breeze Marina, my parking at the new shop is limited, if any one gets in abind , we might be able to make room. Ramp locations are still the same with Remly's point being the most central.

If anyone has military privlages, Joint Base Charleston(AFB) has housing, rec facilities, PX and commisary. the Naval Weapons station has the same(further up the Cooper River), and Short Stay Naval Rec center on Lake Moultire is pretty nice.
Theer are several Campo Grounds in the area, PM me if you want info, some are very nice, some are migrant worker camps

any one has any question, feel free to call or PM me

speaking of which, do yall have anything in particular you want to do while you're here? we can run up the Cooper River on Staturday, eat at The Dock Resturant in Monks Corner for lunch. We could go thur the locks into the lake. About 45 miles from Sea Breeze Marina to the locks. If you plan on fishing during this trip, you will need both fresh and salt water liscense.

If the weather is calm, there are plenty of nearshore fishing spots or just a free for all and meet up at some time. I hate to say it, but I lost my oyster conection and they are getting $75 a bushel for local oysters this season

I've been talking to a friend of mine who lives just North of Charleston in McClellenville(SP?)...he's a pretty good fisherman, knows the waters in his area and has told me he'd be glad to be our fishing guide for a day. He actually has a V20...a Center Console I think, but as time gets near and weather looks good, I'll hook up w/him for a day for us to put us on some fishing holes....Red Fish and Cobia are some of his favorite targets, so come ready to straighten some lines out if ya got a mind to...

Oh yeah. Looks like things are starting to take shape. I'm really looking forward to this trip. I hope I can out fish my wife this time LOL!

that is some shallow water up that way, get stuck on an outgoing, and you'll be there for a while. Besides the fact thats a good ride from Charleston

Well it's official. I just booked our hotel room in the Best Western Patriot Point Mount Pleasant. We are planning on leaving NJ super early on Thursday April 7 and getting down there sometime late afternoon.Right now my boat is all tore apart. I replaced a soft section in the foredeck and repainted the whole cuddy. I sanded off the nonskid on the deck and made a few repairs to some cracks. I recored the gas tank hatch. I am in the process of building a new seat base to accommodate a live well and tackle storage. I am also replacing my rod pockets. And hopefully adding radar to my electronics arsenal. I am so looking forward to getting down to Charleston and having some fun.

Daydreamer,
Most of us are staying at the Best Western in Mount Pleasant. As for a head count I'm not exactly sure. Right now I think it's 5. Lumberslinger,Reelapeelin,Garagenc,Spareparts, and me. Still waiting to see if Ridgerunner and Rwilson are gonna make it.

1 month to go. I'm gonna be working on my boat this weekend. Dropping off my enclosure for new eisenglass. Then I'm gonna work on my new seat with integrated livewell. I just ordered new performance reeds for my motor.

we are getting close to the date, ya'll just want to a have a fishing free for all? Or do you want to do something specific here. IF anyone needs anything from me, let me know. BTW, Oysters are still out of sight and hard to get, so no oyster roast this year. IF you need any maps, locations of tackle stores, ramps, etc.. just let me know. IF any one wants to go so far as to hire a guide for the day, let me know, I can put you in touch with one
