Bulb/fuel line issue….

So, your fuel tank is ahead of the deck storage, close to the cabin? Then they ran the fuel Line into the deck box, through a filter, then your bulb, out the deck box and to the rigging hole to the motor?

If that is the case, I would reroute it to the starboard side. Should be able to remove rod box and run line along bulkheads to the rear under the transom storage box. Mount filter head there. Leave filter and go out rigging tube with wires, cables, etc. then put squeeze ball in before going into motor.

Not sure of that vintage, but I am pretty sure there is an inline filter under the cowlings

Also, I would suggest merc bulb and filter and Racor for the water separator filter. I have the one with the site glass and drain on the bottom

Email any pics to me and I will post them for u

the tank is aft, behind the floor fish box. i imagine it's the original tank. plastic. the fuel line runs right under the deck into the transom fishbox. same fishbox holds both batteries, battery switch, fuel filter/water separator and oil tank. starboard side and there's no box insert so everything is right under the hatch. i'll add a foot or so to the line after the filter so i don't have to get in there to pump the bulb. or i'll relocate it to the actual transom well, maybe. we usually toss bunker in there so maybe i'll leave it where it is. just a little more slack.

And I just ordered the replacement filter for the racor. It’s a no name that replaces the racor and it was half the price. I also ordered the mercury bulb. Why mercury, I have no clue. I’ll reuse the clear water bowl under the filter element. West marine fuel line and I’ll pull the starboard rod box to replace the vent and vent hose. Man, I’m getting too old for this sh!t.
