Buddy of mine is looking at this. . . . . .

Looks like a pretty serious boat there now. Isn't STEIGER a pretty good grade of hull? I had heard before they were pretty much a commercial grade boat, and with the VOLVO diesel it would be great on fuel too.

Great boat, love em, built very well. I have seen those boats after years and years of use and they hold up better than most you can buy at any price.
I am not crazy about volvo diesels. Not because of their ability but because they are expensive to repair and the parts you need to sell your left testicle for.
But if I was looking for that style boat that would be on top of my list.

 I think your friend has been unaffected by the poor economic conditions ...and seriously, good for him...nice boat, but I share your concerns re the Volvo...if it had more hours and due for repower, now that'd be the ticket...Steigers built like a TANK!!...

Classy boat CTT. I know nothing about diesels, Volvo or otherwise but if the Volvo marine parts are anything like the auto parts price-wise, these guys bring up a good point.

Have heard only good things about the steigers. Basically a parker but made without wood (atleast now, not sure about 1989). Their 23' pilothouse is one of my favorite boats.

My friend has the 23 Steiger Block Islander. Really nice boat. And I have heard the same as csvencer, like Parker but "no wood used".
