Break out the shovels MA

Well I measured the snow And I am guessing 20" at my house, wind in the 60'sandcold as hell!! The snow blower did ok on the top stuff but on the coast we got about 3" of slush first and that wasn't getting to cleared as it froze!
The power went out at 7:30 Friday and is still out and doesn't look good for a few n\more days, there was a Nstart guy sayind the power trucks were all parked cause they running out of gas an d no were to get any with the power out and stations near by out of gas!
I know someone here at thepark and they said the power went out fri also but was back on oday, so I took the cat & Dog nd here we are at the new place. My daughtrt is visting me this week and boared, so we looked on the lap top for a signil and found one 2 doors up so she took the dog for a walk and knocked on there door, said We are new and my dad is going nuts not being able to get on the internet, is it possible we could have your password and use your signal for a few days? Well they said yes and here I am!
The Tahoe did awsome in the snow, my daughter went out to shovel me out, I came and said get out the way after I went thur wasit deep snow to get in the truck, I put 4 low and drove right out, never spun a tire! My daughter was why am I diging?? I said I don't know I never asked you to LOL

Ok as you can see I have been going nuts and had to share! Later

My sis in law lives in Sturbridge, Mass. and reported about the same as MJ. Said she has 26 inches in her driveway, and all the roads are closed. Hang in there guys... spring is only a few months away.

Phat,

I have oil heat, not sure on the nat gas. I would think the distribution plants would need electricity and they probably have generators. Back when I had gas heat I didn't have a generator so I didn't know if I still had gas during the power outages.

Not usually up this time of day. Need to get the wood stove going again.

we had 24-26" of snow, pretty heavy wet snow. No power outages by me, gas lines in full panic mode prior to the storm. The V is completely covered w/ snow, a little of the blue tarp showing around the gunnels. Took almost two hours to clear my driveway [it's pretty big at 3800 sq. ft.], the snowblower had a workout but handled it well. To many morons in luxury SUVs driving around at 40mph w/ two feet of snow on the roof. Today is a day off for me....the schools are closed so my boy and I are going sliegh riding. Hope you get power soon MJ. Be well.

Think my generator mistake burned out the controller on my furnace. Power may be far away I heard wareham where mj lives is 90% without power. Hope he and cb are ok.

Very glad I have a wood stove.

Rkc

RKC, I'd almost bet that it didn't. A tripped breaker stops all power from flowing, so if no power was flowing then it's impossible to burn out anything.

BUT

If you had a tripped breaker on your generator, and your furnice has a burned out controller, then it IS possible that your controller burned out and tripped the breaker of your generator.

So, in summary, it's possible your controller burned and tripped the breaker, but not possible that your generator burned out the controller.

69 here today. Its going to get FREEZING here this weekend though. Mid 50's

Stinky, during the summer, when it's a balmy 75-80+ here and I'm sitting outside by the pool with a cold one in my hand, and it's a sweltering 100 degrees by you with 90% relative humidity and you're stuck inside I'm going to laugh myself silly. It WILL be sweet, I promise you. :butt:

Tell me about it brother. I start dreading it as soon as fall gets here knowing it will be short lived. Overall we have about 8-9 months of mild/nice weather but the 100+ with 100% humidity days are hell on earth. I dont fish or nothing, even at night its hardly bearable to fish.

Well I swapped the controller and the furnace fired right up. Still no street power so I will just be careful on not running other high wattage devices at the same time. Really glad I could fix it myself.

We used to have a house in Georgia. I know only too well what July and August can be like. The heat just sucks the life out of you.

At the house there was power when I got there today but it went out right after I got there, so it was stay there with no heat or come back to the mobile home with no water?
The mobule park has well water and the pumps that supply the park went down sunday, they used there back up to get it back on and now that died!! I chose to come here with no water and filled a few buckets with snow to melt, now I have water to flush the toilet.
What a way to live!! See what tomorrow brings??

sorry MJ that sucks, will pray things get better for all. let's all kill that GROUND HOG !! and make chummm
