Bow rail Why ?

Just thinking about something after seeing that custom 32' boat on the other post w/o a bow rail , how nice and clean it looked, why do i need a bow rail on a full front cuddy boat. I see the need on my center console, but no one is going to be regularly walking around on the bow of my v20. Has anyone taken it off completely. Would it be a problem in any way?

I've said it before, it looks better without it and serves no real purpose. Take it off! It won't hurt a thing!

I took it off my '72 cause I'm a cheapskate and didn't want to buy new stainless hardware ;D

I likewhat Franco did to his, chopping it down to about 4" at its highest point. It can function as sort of a LARGE non- cumbersome bow cleat...looks sharp!

Willy, a bow-rail on any boat boils down to one thing; personal opinion...I've seen as many V20s and other boats that looked GREAT w/out a bow-rail as with one...that's one thing that makes this board so interesting, is the diversity of styles and individual likes/dislikes of the boat owners...

Like James Brown said; "It's all good..." ;D...

If you ever find yourself out on that bow tending an anchor in a big chop you'll be grateful you had it!!

Good one RP, how you keep your nortons warm is your business. What happens on your V20 stays on your V20 ;D

Check out Seabird's boat on page one of the V20 steplift gallery, This is one sharp boat. I'm thinking about removing my bow rail after saw this boat.
