I'd say the Johnson V8 briefly produced in the 90's.....or was it the 80's ?

Then maybe the 250 OX66......

Others ?

Yamaha VX250, Johnrude V8, 2thirsty5 johnrude
OX motors aren't that bad compared to these three guzzlers

The BIGGEST guzzler of all was the ever so rare FORUMLA 1 V8's that OMC made for a BRIEF run in the late 80's. I've only seen a few pics of them. The 235 used three 1 3/8" 2 barrel carbs, the FORMULA 1 OMC V8's used EIGHT of them on it, dry exhaust, a removeable exhaust chest, and could turn RPM's in excess 11,000 RPM's.

My grand pa has a aging banner that is probably 30 feet wide by 10 feet high in his shop, that has a F1? tunnel hull with one of those Race V-8's on the back. To say it's the most bad *** looking engine is an understatement. It would be awesome if someone made a v-8 2 stroke again that sounded nasty like the old ones.

The Yamaha F350 can really suck down some fuel too. I ran a big Grady White with triples. At WOT it was pulling nearly 100gph between all three.

providing 1050 hp at 100 gallons per hour is pretty efficient. HP takes fuel, regardless of whether its 2 stroke, 4 stroke, FI, DFI, or carb. If you want to go fast, its going to cost

It wasn't as fast as you would think. It was a heavy boat. I can't remember how fast exactly. I think low 50's. But the roar of those V-8's really sound great.
