Anchor Storage

Just picked up my first V20 (Pics Soon) and now the projects begin!

Right now the anchor is mounted to the railing but I have a larger anchor that wont fit and I dont like putting all that stress on the railing.
A Friend of mine gave me these anchor chocks http://www.perko.com/catalog/category/deck_hardware/product/685/

I am wondering if anyone has used these cause Im not sure how/where to install them. From Looking at the chocks it appears the points of the anchor go in the little "caps" and the flat part in the middle of the anchor (forgive my lack of anchor lingo) goes in the plate with the lip. My problem is if I put the points go in the "caps" the anchor wont slide into the flat plate with the lip without it being loose and visa-versa. There is also the part with the screw for the shaft but it doesnt appear this is a tight connection.

Thanks for any help I hope this makes sense.

I cant find a picture of mine at the moment but I use anchor chocks to hold my anchor up on my cuddy deck. They are however slightly different than yours. I'm not sure how the one you shows work exactly but mine are more like this ecxept made out of black rubber

Either way your concern seems to be that it doesnt hold the anchor firmly in place which I dont think is a problem. using the ones I have the anchor is very loose in there but it never falls out of the chocks. you just lift and slide out at the same time . the chocks keep it from moving side to side and from bouncing straight up....its funny though every person who has seen me put the anchor back into those chocks say "you're gonna leave it like that?".....I just say yup .

I have them on my boat. I installed them last year and they work great. It keeps the anchor at the ready and keeps it out from under my feet. I have the one in Rwilson's link with the bottom part of that picture facing the bow. I think you will like it a lot once you do it.

Thanks for the Info. I went to install the chocks last night and either they wont work on my anchor or Im doing it wrong. I mounted the chocks on my work bench to get the layout but when I put the points of the anchor into the cups the flat area in the middle of the anchor wont fit into the plate with the grove unless i make it very loose, inwhich case the anchor will just come out. Also the part of the chock that holds the end of the anchor where the chain hooks on has a bolt in it, is the bolt supposed to go through the hole in the anchor where the chain is attached?

For something so simple this is a pain in the...

yea the parts were the two tips of the anchor goes on yours being like caps is what has me confused. on mine the flat section of the anchor slides into the holder and the ones for the tips are open on top and the tips just lay in there and they keep them from moving side to side....I can see why you are having problems. post up some close up pics.
