Heres my rebuilt engine and transom .I did everything myself except painting the transom. My neighbor that owns his own body shop did an excellent job of matching the paint to the gelcoat .He cleared it with Emron clear.

Nice and clean. Keep up the good work.

Not to change the subject or high jack your thread, but I see you are from N.C. What do you think about them changing the color of the license plates back to red? I like the blue they have now and after 25 years why change?

What a GREAT JOB, clefton!! clean "V"...looks like a great season ahead for ya!! Good work on the teak...it reely came out good and I like the fishfinder mount ;) ...

Heard it on the news the other day, they are going from carolina blue to red.

I remember back when I was younger living down there they were red and switched to blue, now back to red.

Thanks fellas, hard work does pay off! I used Captains marine varnish on the teak, and sanded between coats (5 coats each piece) with 600 grit sandpaper.I hope they last awhile. Ill be running her in theChowan river,Albemarle sound (crabbing),and around Oregon Inlet on the Outer Banks. I really like the I/O 170. My buddys got a 86 V with a 470 I/O, which is basically the same thing. Mine is a 170 engine with a alpha one outdrive. I rebuilt it all. I bought it not running, and not knowing it had a rotten transom! I worked on it for 51 weeks before finally putting it in the water. That first ride was really sweet!
